We seek to develop a spirit of community among rural Leavenworth County residents and work together to preserve the generally rural nature of Leavenworth County. We oppose high-density residential, commercial and industrial projects which threaten the character and lifestyle of surrounding property owners outside city limits.
We support private property rights, and we oppose increased regulation on agricultural and rural residential land outside municipal city limits. We specifically oppose the use of extraterritorial jurisdiction by municipalities, and involuntary and “island” annexations.
We support responsible, efficient government, and we oppose unjustified increases in the mill levies of county governments, school districts and governmental bodies.
We support fair and responsible development of Leavenworth County and scrutinize the use of economic incentives; projects that shift costs of development to the public or those that adversely affect the tax burden on surrounding landowners.
